Newsflash Spring 2023

Dear friends, dear supporters and dear fans! We are back with a new update from the competition period of the EDGE14.

Rollout EDGE14 The day the entire team has been working towards for the season so far - Rollout 2023. On May 17, 2023, we were finally able to present this year's race car, the EDGE14, to our sponsors, families, friends and fans for the first time. As in previous years, this year's rollout was held at TUtheSky above the rooftops of Vienna. With numerous guests we were able to celebrate an unforgettable evening as a team. The evening started with a presentation that introduced the team and its members, showed reviews of the development and production of the new car and led up to the most important thing, the unveiling of the EDGE14. This was accompanied by videos, interviews with sponsors and speeches from our team leaders, which once again offered a detailed insight into the processes of our work. After enough suspense had built up, the EDGE14 was finally unveiled as the highlight of the event, which could then be admired by all those present. We would like to thank everyone who made this unforgettable evening possible and who experienced and celebrated it with us.

The competitions of this season So the EDGE14 is ready, already doing its laps on race and test tracks and ready to prove itself at the Formula Student competitions this summer. In order to be best prepared for the official world ranking competitions this summer, we already started this year's season in June with FS Easter 2023 in Hungary, a shortened preparation event that gave us the opportunity to test the team and the EDGE14 under competition conditions. With the knowledge gained, we are ready for an eventful summer of events with a full four world ranking competitions. In just a few weeks FS Austria 2023 at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg is just around the corner, before we head to Hungary, Germany and Croatia in August. If you want to follow what's happening, feel free to do so on our social media platforms.

The first event 2023: FS Easter The EDGE14 was just presented to the world for the first time at the rollout and less than a month later it was already competing at its first event. On June 16, around 20 team members took off early in the morning to Zalaegerszeg in Hungary for FS Easter, where they spent three successful and exciting days. After arriving and setting up the pit, the team immediately started with the mechanical and electrical acceptance of the car as well as the accumulator. The second day was dominated by the static disciplines of Engineering Design, Cost Report and Business Plan, all of which we successfully completed with a first place each! After that, the EDGE14 was checked in several aspects during the still outstanding technical acceptance tests: These included the Rain Test, the Tilt Test, the Brake Test and the weighing of the race car. After the successful completion of all checks, we went directly to the race track, where the dynamic disciplines Skipad and Acceleration were already being held. We finished the former with a good 3rd place, while we managed to get the victory in Acceleration. The frame for the third and last day of the competition was set by the disciplines Autocross and Endurance. We again took another third place in Autocross. With these successes in various disciplines, we were able to secure 3rd place overall! With this confirmation and the knowledge of how we can improve ourselves and the EDGE14 for the upcoming competitions, we start highly motivated into the summer.
