Newsflash March

Dear friends, dear supporters and dear fans!

We are back with a new update from the production period of EDGE15.

Our technical modules are working at full speed on the various components of the EDGE15. While the first cycle of the monocoque is already complete and the second is in full swing, some of our members are spending a lot of time at the Institute of Production Engineering at Vienna University of Technology. They are working intensively on parts such as the rotor shafts and the front hoop. Furthermore, during a test day, we successfully and safely recuperated for the first time since we started using all-wheel drive, which enabled us to significantly increase the efficiency of our powertrain. Furthermore, the battery container production has also begun and suspension module has already started with the first rims.

Meanwhile, preparations for the static events are also in full swing. These include engineering design, business plan and cost report.

EDGE15 Cell sponsorship

We have news! TU Wien Racing now offers a cell sponsorship for our battery cells. This year, our racing car will once again be powered by a self-developed accumulator consisting of 280 state-of-the-art battery cells. We have introduced this project to give families, friends and anyone interested the opportunity to support us in the production of the EDGE15. For €15.00, the respective person can become a sponsor of one of these battery cells and in return receives

  • Their own name immortalized on the EDGE15 battery container

  • A certificate of sponsorship

  • A photo of the EDGE15 as a souvenir

  • Your name listed on our website

All information can be found in our online store on the TU Wien Racing website.

Second recruiting phase of the 2023/24 season

It's March and that means it's time again to recruit new members to our team. We started the recruiting phase again by exhibiting our EDGE14 at TU Wien to make students aware of our team. We were also able to present ourselves and our project in some lectures and were thus able to respond directly to interested students. The application phase ended on March 17 and we are now looking forward to many interviews and the upcoming newbie kickoff to welcome our new members to the team! As always, their time with us starts with a few EDGEucations, in which the newbies learn everything about the team and the EDGE, and a safety briefing before the newbies then join the selected modules. We look forward to more helping hands for the production of our EDGE15!

DISTech

For some of our 3D printed components this season, we are once again relying on a partner that has been with us for a long time. RPD GmbH was the first Austrian company to launch SLS 3D printing technology on the Austrian market 25 years ago - and the company is still characterized by its innovative spirit and state-of-the-art technology within the DISTech Group today. Customers from a wide range of sectors such as the automotive industry, aviation, the energy sector, but also medical and household technology appreciate the variety of combinable in-house processes as well as the high-quality products that can be made available in the shortest possible time.

For this reason, components from DISTech are used for steering and motor components, among others. We are proud to have you as a reliable partner and thank you for your support in the production of some important components.

Until then!

Your TU Wien Racing
