Dear friends, dear supporters and dear fans!
We are back with a new update from from the EDGE17 development phase.
December was marked by intensive work, but also by moments of community and celebration. A special highlight was the Christmas party , where active members and alumni of the team took the opportunity to get together outside of their everyday work and bring the year to a close together. The well-attended punch stand also offered students, team members, and guests the opportunity to toast together, exchange ideas, and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
In addition to the celebrations, December was also a month of hard work. Several work days took place in the various modules, during which the team concentrated on their respective tasks and goals. One example was the Christmas work day for the organizational modules, which combined productive work with a joint celebration, as the team watched the Formula 1 finale together afterwards, which further strengthened team cohesion and ensured a successful end to the work day.

Our chassis and composites modules also had a lot to do this month. Around three weeks ago, our sponsor SFK first milled off the old urethane blocks. We then glued on additional blocks to completely build up the required shape. Last week, we returned the machined blocks to SFK. After New Year's Eve, the final positive mold will be milled there on this basis.
In the technical area, a comprehensive aero and suspension design review also took place. The concepts developed in October were re-examined and the current status of the design was critically reflected upon. Thanks to valuable input from people with relevant knowledge, all assemblies were systematically reviewed, details were discussed in detail, and open questions were clarified. This ensured that all relevant aspects were taken into account and no important points were overlooked.

As the year comes to an end and the holiday season begins, we wish all team members, supporters, and partners a Merry Christmas, relaxing holidays, and a successful and healthy start to the new year.

BMW Group Werk Steyr
The BMW Group Werk Steyr is the largest engine plant of the world-renowned automobile manufacturer BMW. Over a million engines are produced there every year – more than half of all BMW and MINI vehicles are powered by an engine from Steyr. In addition, the state-of-the-art development center is working intensively on the research and development of new electric drives.
Since 2024, the plant has been providing us with comprehensive support, combining manufacturing, technical expertise, financial support, and a strong community in a collaborative partnership. Important components were created in the modern apprentice workshop, among other places.
As title sponsor, we are part of the BMW Group's Formula Student program. The extensive mentor network gives us valuable insights into BMW's comprehensive expertise in all areas of vehicle development. The collaboration in the field of inverters in particular offers us decisive added value, as we receive valuable input from the industry for our self-developed powertrain. In addition, we are already benefiting from various BMW events that strengthen the exchange with other sponsored teams.
We are proud of this partnership and would like to express our sincere thanks for the continuous and valuable support!

Until then!
