Dear friends, dear supporters and dear fans!

We are back with a new update from from the EDGE17 production phase.

Full throttle through Europe

We are proud to announce that we will be participating in a total of four different Formula Student competitions this event season. The season kicks off with Formula Student Switzerland from 9 to 15 July, taking us to the Swiss Alps. Then, from 26 to 30 July, we will be heading back to Austria for Formula Student Austria, which takes place in Spielberg at the Red Bull Ring. The home race is always a special highlight and offers us the chance to prove our performance on home turf. Without a long break, the journey continues to Germany to the Hockenheimring, where we will prove ourselves at Formula Student Germany from 11 to 16 August. FSG is one of the most prestigious and demanding competitions of the season. Here we will meet top international teams and take on the next challenges. The grand finale will be Formula Student East at the Hungaroring from 23 to 29 August, where we will end the season together and give it our all once again. But there is still a lot to do before then.

Updates from the workshop

The electronics team is currently working flat out on the wiring harness, which acts as the vehicle's central nervous system and connects all the electrical components. The front wiring harness has already been completely wound, which is an important milestone for our vehicle's electrical system. At the same time, the rear wiring harness is currently being finalised in CAD (computer-aided design). The components are designed as a digital model and can be edited directly. Once the design is complete, production will start immediately, so we are taking another big step forward here as well.

In addition, there was a real highlight this month: the monocoque tooling homecoming. This is an important step towards production, as it means we now have the tools we need to manufacture the EDGE17 monocoque.

Furthermore, both new and existing members had the opportunity to take part in the lamination training course lead by the aerodynamics module to learn how to handle carbon fibre professionally. This ensures that our know-how is passed on within the team.

Recruitment phase

The second recruitment phase of this season will take place from 22 February to 15 March. During this period, we would like to expand our team for the current season and bring new, motivated members on board. We are looking for committed talents who bring fresh ideas, different perspectives and enthusiasm for motorsport and technology. Our vacancies cover various specialist areas – from development and production to management and organisation.
