Newsflash May

Dear friends, dear supporters and dear fans!

We are back with a new update from TU Wien Racing.

The time has come - after many long nights in the workshop, the rollout could take place. Our car was not only well received by the team members, but also by sponsors, friends and family. With its new livery, the EDGE16 proudly presents itself to the public and is a real eye-catcher. The EDGE16 also had a successful first drive.

The end of the production phase

After months of work, the time has come - we have reached the end of production. Many sleepless nights and labor-intensive days later, we have a finished EDGE16 in the workshop.

Wrapping

This year, the EDGE16 shines with a new livery. This was a long time in the making and could finally be applied to the finished car and admired. The new design is not only popular within the team, but has also received a lot of praise from outside.

First drive

The first drive of the EDGE16 at the beginning of May was the next big milestone for the team. Not only did we get to the test track very early with our car, we even managed it before the rollout. It is unique for us that we were even ready to drive with 2 vehicles on that day and everything worked without a hitch. This is further proof of the tireless work of our team members and their ambition to build the best possible car.

Rollout

After an intensive period of preparation and planning, the long-awaited rollout took place. The team strives to put on a great event every season and this year was no exception. After a short seasonrecap and interesting interviews with BMW and Resch GmbH, the time had come - the EDGE16 was unveiled. The day then turned into night and the team was able to celebrate its successes and failures in style. Of course, sponsors, alumni, friends and family were not to be missed.

Testing, testing, testing

The next few weeks will be all about testing. The car will be tested for reliability and performance in numerous test marathons in order to be well prepared for the start of the competition season. Many days and nights will be spent getting the EDGE16 into top form so that we can return home in the fall with as many successes as possible.

H

The design of components, the analysis of strengths, the simulation of air flows and the rendering of images are part of our daily tasks and place high demands on our computing capacities. Thanks to the powerful HP Workstations and HP Mobile Workstations, which have been available to us for several years, we can perform these complex calculations in realistic resolution and in the shortest possible time. These workstations enable us to generate simulation results in just a few minutes, which significantly increases our efficiency.

HP is also supporting us this season with these powerful devices, which make a decisive contribution to our daily work. In addition, we are currently working closely with HP on a simulator solution that is being developed specifically for the training of our drivers.

Our heartfelt thanks go to HP Inc. for their continued support!

Until then!
