Dear friends, dear supporters and dear fans!
We are back with a new update from from the EDGE17 concept phase.
As every year, numerous training courses for new and existing team members take place at the beginning of the season so that everyone can start the development phase with the same level of knowledge. During the lamination training course, which was conducted by our Composites Module, participants were given a theoretical introduction to the basics of carbon and the lamination process, followed by the opportunity to put what they had learned into practice. This means that our Chassis and Composites Modules are well prepared to provide active support in the coming season. Training courses were also held in other areas. During the HyperWorks training course, our mechanical members were given an introduction to layer structure and the various simulation methods. In the design training course, participants were trained in 3DX, our central CAD and design program. They learned both the basics of using the tool and our internal workflow.

In addition to the training courses, we were also heavily involved in various events in November. We exhibited the EDGE 7 at TEDxTU Vienna and Teconomy at TU Vienna Freihaus, where we had numerous stimulating conversations with interested parties. One of our EDGEs was also on display at the Open Days at FH Technikum. We were not only in Vienna, but also outside the city, where we were able to inspire many future race car builders for our project at the HTL Hollabrunn Study Information Day.

At the same time, work on the static disciplines is already in full swing. We are currently in the middle of a creative and promising phase of ideas for the business plan. In this discipline, we are developing a convincing business model based on parts of our vehicle and refining it so that we can present our vision clearly and, subsequently, in an economically coherent manner. Preparatory steps for the cost report are also currently underway. This mainly involves a complete breakdown of all components, manufacturing steps, and costs of the vehicle. It shows how efficiently and transparently our race car can be produced.

There is also a lot to do in our organizational modules at the moment. They ensure that EDGE is always where it is needed, that it is always present at the numerous exhibition days, and that the events run smoothly. They are also currently working on the design and implementation of our EDGE annual calendar. As every year, there is a new logo and a seasonal motto, which has now finally been finalized.

Until then!
Your TU Wien Racing
