Newsflash December

Updated: 32 minutes ago

Dear friends, dear supporters and dear fans!

We are back with a new update from the concept phase of EDGE16.

As the year 2024 draws to a close, there is still a lot to do and we want to make the most of the vacation season. In this issue, we want to inform you about our important dates and tasks - from preparing for the Rules Quiz and the last test day of 2024 to the Design Freeze and our successful Christmas party.

Learning the rules of Formula Student is very important for our team because we are all motivated to pass the Rules Quizzes (you can find more details in our blog post at this link) in January with flying colors. This month, apart from the weekly meetings in which we go into more detail on some of the questions of the quizzes, there was a so-called rules quiz simulation in which we mastered solving a quiz together as a group. Of course, the whole team helped together and did their best, and in the coming weeks we will continue to work intensively on mastering the rules perfectly in order to achieve the best possible result on the rules quiz day.

We also took the opportunity to test our EDGE15 again and run another test day where we tried out different damper settings to further optimize our setup. The aim was to collect valuable data that will help us to set up the car in the best possible way for the coming season.

One topic that is very close to our hearts at the moment is the design freeze of our car. It marks the point at which the development of the car is complete and no more major changes are made. From this point onwards, it's about making all the necessary preparations to have the parts manufactured - this includes creating drawings, selecting materials and procuring them. Before the design freeze, there is usually a design review in which alumni and experienced engineers give feedback on the individual components to ensure that they are all optimally coordinated. Even if some projects remain in development for longer because they will not be integrated into the car until later or are more complex, the design freeze is a crucial step in preparing for production.

As every December, we held our Christmas party to reflect on the year together. This was the perfect occasion to strengthen team cohesion and celebrate the work and effort that each of us puts into TU Wien Racing. We spent a fun and cozy evening and are now even more motivated for the new year

TU Wien Racing wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2025!

Until then!

Your TU Wien Racing
